Patek Philippe sets the online Watch Auction record

March, 23, 2023 – A rather fancy Patek Philippe grand complication Sky Moon Tourbillon (yes, it’s a mouthful, we know) has broken the record for an online auction sale, clocking a staggering $5.815million at the hammer drop at Christies Hong Kong. Despite having a name that hints at the simplicity of a child of a sixties hippie, the Sky Moon Tourbillon is actually one of Patek Philippe’s most complicated pieces, featuring a total of 12 complications, including cathedral minute repeating, tourbillon, perpetual calendar, retrograde date, moon phases, leap year indication, sidereal time, sky chart, phases and orbit of the moon.
